Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Absenteeism impacts socialization skills, reading skills, grades, test scores, graduation rates, and college enrollment and completion. SEL addresses the root cause, creating schools and classrooms where students want to be.

With SEL and academics, there is no either/or. Instead, they are a natural pair. SEL helps create the conditions for student learning, while academic instruction provides a ripe opportunity for teaching and practicing social-emotional skills.
